Note: New projects, from the 2012-13 school year, will be uploaded soon. Take a look at last year's, though, while they're still here.
1st TRIMESTER PROJECT EXAMPLES
Here are examples of some of the technology-based projects done by students in Room 405 in the first trimester. Most of them are centered around our study of Greek and Latin roots and the English words derived from them, or on common idioms in English. There are Keynote presentations, student-created puzzles, and even a movie or two! Take a look! There are only a few at the moment (as of 11/30/11), but more will be added in the next few days.

These students made this movie using a Flip video camera and iMovie. They're acting out the meanings of several common English idioms, including::
Down the hatch "Fat Cat Don't look a gift horse in the mouth and others. See if you can tell which ones they're acting out! |
Here's the evaluation form I use, and have the students use, to evaluate/assess their Vocab Projects and Idiom Projects. Click on the file below to download.
It's a Pages template document that's been converted into a PDF.

Click on the grey arrow to the left to hear a spooky story, "Dead Island."
It was written, and then recorded, by Olme. He used Quicktime's audio recording feature. |
Here's a short vampire story by Marc, a student in Room 405. Click on the grey arrow below to listen to it. Marc created it using GarageBand's podcast features.
Click on the file below to download a cool Keynote photo essay presentation of our "man" (hand) Latin root words.
