CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2012-13 MOFFITT ACADEMIC PENTATHLON TEAM!

Several Mustangs also earned individual medals in the various subjects. For more info, check the 2012-13 Pentathlon page under the "What's Happening" section. Pictures and details will be there soon.
Moffitt's 2012-2013 Academic Pentathlon Team!
Congratulations to our dedicated 6th Grade Mustangs! They put in a lot of work, and on Saturday, April 27, 2013, they put their knowledge to the test in the annual Academic Pentathlon competition.
This year, the event was held at La Quinta High School in Westminster, CA. The Pentathletes competed in Math, Science (Energy in the Earth's Systems), Social Studies (ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia), Literature (The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain), and Essay.
We will know more about how they did, and the awards they won, in the next few weeks. We'll keep you posted!
THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL THE PARENTS AND FAMILY OF THE PENTATHLETES, FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT AND FOR ALLOWING YOUR CHILDREN TO PARTICIPATE. NO MATTER THE RESULTS FROM THE COMPETITION, THE RESULTS THEIR INVOLVEMENT WILL HAVE ON THEIR LIVES WILL BE PRICELESS AND IMMEASURABLE.
TO SEE PIX AND VIDEO OF THE PENTATHLETES AT THE COMPETITION, GO TO "WHAT'S HAPPENING", AND CLICK ON PENTATHLON 2012-2013 IN THE DROP DOWN MENU.

Hey Mustangs, thanks for a great first half of the school year! Happy Holidays! See you in 2013!--Mr. Fraser
I hope you enjoyed our "Holiday Chill Out" nacho party on Friday, 12/21/12. I'm glad we weren't all thrown out into space or whatever was supposed to happen (aren't you?).
Remember to do your "mental maintenance" while on vacation.
All play and no work make Mustangs go backwards, to paraphrase a line from The Shining! Stay sharp!
I look forward to your emailed RRLs, too. Keep me posted.

CONFERENCE WEEK A SUCCESS!
Thanks to all the parents and other family members who attended Room 405's Student-Led Conference event. I hope they were suitably impressed by the presentations given by the students.
I also hope the students learned a lot about themselves, and their family members, through this important experience.

Here are a few photos of students working hard prepping for their conferences.

Once again, Moffitt Mustangs enjoyed food, games, and a variety of fun activities as part of our annual Harvest Fest carnival.
I want to give a big "THANKS!" to all of my 6th grade student helpers, especially Andrew, who helped make the prize bags all week long before the carnival, and stayed the entire time of the event running the MilkJug Knockdown booth. A very special thanks to Alexis' mom, who brought the canopy and ran the Football Challenge, and to Rebecca's mom and brother, who took care of he Nacho Booth. I couldn't have done it without them.
Other notable helpers were Alison and Giselle, who also ran the MilkJug game for much of the time. Veronica and Jose helped with the prize bags, too, and several other students, including Alexis, helped shag the footballs for the Football Challenge. If I forgot anyone, I'm sure you'll let me know. Thanks again!
